I don't care about the politics surrounding what the owner may have done. We all need money, capitalism stinks doesn't it? (you can have anything you want, but you better not take it from me - welcome to the jungle.)
Old Guardian 2006 is fucking incredible. I have drank MANY barleywines, and by drank I mean consume and evaluate not just get hammered on. I like a couple other Stone beers, but nothing touches OG. It is an amazing beer, and I'm sorry if it doesn't meet up to others standards... it could be a stock barleywine recipe with just some cat fur, a moldy rat carcass, and unfiltered San Diego tap water for all I know... but I do know this - I now rank it as my favorite barleywine... it's affordable, readily available, and delicious. And I live within walking distance to Brooklyn Brewery, so technically I am a beer asshole not beer snob.
Oh well.

Re: Old Guardian rocks.
03/29agreed. I have tried many Barley wines and brewed a few but this one rocks.
You need to hit the West coast for their next festival!
